Services for UB Faculty and Staff

We encourage UB faculty and staff to partner with Career Services in helping students make educated decisions about major of study, job/internship opportunities, and work/graduate school options. Through these collaborations, we can work together to support students' academic and career goals.

Hire a Student

Is your department looking to hire qualified Student Assistants, Work-Study Students, Graduate Assistants, Teaching Assistants, or Research Assistants? Maximize your department's exposure and attract qualified applicants by posting these positions on our centralized electronic job board for students.

Request a Workshop

We would be delighted to present a workshop or to speak to your class on the career- or employment-related topic of your choosing. In addition, if conferences or travel plans take you out of town on a class day, rather than canceling class, please consider adding us to your syllabus!

Calendar of Events

View our Calendar of Events to see what we have planned for the semester: workshops, job fairs, graduate school days, networking events, and more! You may wish to note important dates on your syllabus and encourage your students to attend.

Career Resource Library

The Brent D. Arcangel Career Resource Library contains a multitude of up-to-date resources for career exploration, the job/internship search and advanced degrees. Consider partnering with us to create a career-oriented research assignment for your class!

Reference Letters

As of July 1, 2010 Career Services began phasing out its Reference File Service. However, we still provide resources to help students and faculty navigate the recommendation process.

How You Can Help

Refer Your Students

Our staff of dedicated career counselors are available to help your students with a range of career decisions—from exploring a major or career path to applying to graduate school and beyond. We conduct individual career counseling appointments, as well as 20 minute same-day Express Career Consults, practice interviews, workshops/events and more! View all services for students.

Share Employer Contacts

Each year, Career Services hosts recruiters from a variety of local and national employers, who come to campus to attend job fairs, hold information sessions, or meet with students in our private interview rooms. Students may view the list of companies, submit a resume, and sign up for an interview slot - all online. View a list of organizations that recruit at UB.

Do you have any employer contacts to share, or do you know anyone who is hiring? Encourage employers to make contact with our office and take advantage of electronic job posting, on-campus interviewing, and job fairs. Learn more about our employer services.

Become a Mentor Volunteer

Join the Mentor Network, featuring hundreds of UB alumni, parents, faculty/staff, and employers from around the globe. Our mentors serve as an important resource to UB students and recent graduates, offering their perspective on career choice, internships, job searching, continuing education and other forms of professional advancement.
