A Safety Message from VP of Student Affairs

Use the Brent D. Arcangel Career Library

Students, alumni, faculty and staff are welcome to use the print and electronic resources located in the Brent D. Arcangel Career Resource Library, 259 Capen Hall. Hours are 8:30 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, during which time there is a counselor or career peer available in the library to address quick questions, critique resumes and cover letters and help patrons use library resources.

The print resources are divided into three sections:
  • Career Exploration - Find resources to help you identify and research careers and majors that match your interests, abilities and values.
  • Job & Internship Search - Found here are resources that deal with such topics as: resume and cover letter writing, CV's, interviewing tips and techniques, business etiquette and the job search in different career areas. Directories or several categories of employers and internships are also available.
  • Advanced Degrees - Individuals considering graduate or professional education may use several comprehensive directories of academic programs. Here you will find resources covering the application and admissions process, funding for studies and admissions essays (personal statements).

There are also computer stations for student/alumni use in the career and job/internship search. Work on your resume and have it critiqued by the counselor on duty!

UB Librarian Chris Hollister

Meet with UB Librarian Chris Hollister during his office hour in the Career Resource Library (Wednesday from 11 am - 12 noon), or contact him to make other arrangements: cvh2@buffalo.edu. He will give you tips on finding information sources for your job search.
