Mentor Network
The Mentor Network has a volunteer base of 450+ alumni, parents, and employers from around the globe who serve as a resource to UB students and recent graduates, offering their perspective on career choice, internships, job searching, continuing education and professional advancement.
Career mentors are valuable resources in your career development journey. They provide Insight into your field of interest and can offer a unique perspective that cannot be gained from a textbook or website. Some mentors also offer:
- On-the-job shadowing or tour of company/organization
- Advice on resumes, cover letters, interviewing and more
- Job/internship search assistance
- Networking opportunities within the field
How to Find a Mentor
- Login to BullsEye and click on the “Mentor” tab at the top of the menu bar.
- Go to "Detailed Search" to identify mentors by keyword, college major, current industry, job category, city/state, and more.
- Click on a mentor's name for a detailed bio and a description of how they can assist you.
- To contact a mentor, click on the "Interested" button. Or you may view the mentor’s preferred contact information to directly reach them by phone or email.
- If you are having difficulty finding a good mentor match, contact Career Services for assistance.
Invite a Career Mentor to Your Club/Residence Hall
Many mentors live locally and would be willing to come to your residence hall or club meeting to share their experience and advice. Request a career mentor.

Evaluation Form
After meeting your mentor, complete the online evaluation form and submit to UB Career Services. We are interested to hear your feedback!
Note: The Mentor Network is to be used solely as a means to connect those exploring careers with volunteers who are experienced in those careers. Using mentor information in an inappropriate manner (i.e. sales solicitation) will result in termination of the user's access to all BullsEye services.

Additional Mentor Programs
There are many mentor-matching services on the web. Be sure to check with professional associations related to your field of interest -- they may have their own mentoring programs. The links below are just a small sampling of the mentoring resources available.
- S.A.M.P.L.E. (Student Affairs Mentoring Program & Leadership Experience) - SAMPLE is a mentoring program offered by UB's Student Affairs and is open to all undergraduate students who are interested in exploring the field of Higher Education, specifically Student Affairs.
- S.A.G.E. (Success through Access to Guidance and Experience) Internship Program - SAGE interns who demonstrate that they have overcome a disadvantage or impediment to success in higher education are provided the unique opportunity to obtain a paid internship position, mentorship, networking and guidance related to their educational and career goals while they gain professional development skills and relatable work experience in their area of interest.
- R.E.A.L.M. (Real Experience and Leadership Mentoring) Program - REALM is a one-day leadership-mentoring program designed to help broaden students' leadership perspectives and knowledge of skills needed to be successful in life beyond UB. Students who are accepted into the program will spend the day with a Buffalo-Niagara area leader and attend a reception with all REALM participants.
