Career Workshops for UBE 101 Classes
Career Services is available to present to UBE 101 classes on up to 2 career-related topics. If you are interested in requesting a workshop, review the presentation descriptions below. Please submit your request form with at least 3 weeks' notice so that we may best accommodate you.
MyPlan Debrief: This is our standard workshop for UBE 101 and it is strongly encouraged to be used to satisfy the Planning for Your Future core topic requirement. As a self-assessment tool, MyPlan guides students to think purposefully about their academic choices and how they relate to their career goals. MyPlan allows for students to explore their interests, skills, and values. The debrief workshop focuses on exploring the results to discover and confirm students’ interest in academic majors while also exploring related skills and the opportunities available for developing them. MyPlan also provides detailed information on occupations, educational opportunities, and industries that will aide in the self exploration process for first-year students. Taking MyPlan and attending a debrief is a component of the Finish in 4 pledge and participating in a debrief of their results from Career Services within UBE101 will satisfy this requirement for students. 50 minutes
Important Note: You must assign students to complete MyPlan AND print out the results of all 3 assessments (Interests Inventory, Skills Profiler, Values Assessment) prior to the scheduled date of the debrief. For instructions on how to take MyPlan and print out the results, view our PDF (796KB)
